Dinner with Proserpina

A piece of flash fiction inspired from one of Federico Fellini's illustrations from his dream diaries is published in the latest issue of La Piccioletta Barca, an exceptionally beautiful art and literature journal. Click on Fellini's illustration below to read this dreamy story. According to Roman mythology, Proserpina (or Persephone in ancient Greek) was the Queen of the Underworld. Her dark power was associated with the moon and was often depicted holding a fish and a key. When the Christian church suppressed her worship, Italian devotees used the image of a fish containing a key as a reference to her. Dinner with Proserpina will also be included in an upcoming print anthology of texts published in La Piccioletta Barca.
